Dr. Michael Napolitano is a functional medicine doctor who focuses on mental health and overall wellness through nutrition, lifestyle as well as western medical practices. He grew up in Westlake Village, CA and received his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. He graduated in the top percentile of his class with high honors and was awarded the Dr. Marguerite Markarian award. He also was published in the Frontier’s Journal of Microbiology for his systematic review on fecal microbiota transplants for the treatment of diabetes and obesity. After medical school, he attended a Psychiatry residency at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN for two years where he completed his general medical training. After getting licensed to practice medicine in the state of California, he moved back to Agoura Hills, CA to practice Functional Medicine with an emphasis on mental health. He has expertise in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, addiction and schizophrenia but also has a strong foundation in functional endocrinology and hormone balance. He has also received his NASM certification in personal training with a strong background in nutrition and weight loss management. Dr. Napolitano sees the value in offering patients a whole-body focused approach to medicine.
